Ashfield House is a beautiful early 17th century Grade II listed building, located right in the centre of Grassington just off the main square. Set in its own little haven, Ashfield House is quiet, yet right in the centre of the village. The House benefits from private parking (scarce in Grassington) with a beautiful walled garden for you to enjoy.
Each of its 7 bedrooms are en suite plus there is a beautiful Garden Suite with its own private lounge and garden terrace. The House is full of character with its mullioned windows, inglenook fireplace, and oak beams.
Ashfield Cottage is self catering and situated next to the main House. It has two bedrooms (a king and a superking/twin) and each bedroom has its own bathroom. There is a large cosy lounge (with log burner), a separate dining room and a well appointed kitchen.
Ashfield House and Cottage can both enjoy the large walled garden which is perfect for sitting out and most importantly there is free on site parking, which is rare in the centre of Grassington.
Ashfield House has a reputation for its breakfasts where we use locally sourced produce where available. The menu has something for everyone and we also provide gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options.
Grassington is famous for the TV series All Creatures Great and Small where we were featured in a couple of episodes.

The Grassington 1940’s weekend will this year be held from Friday 20th September to Sunday 22nd September. Please call to enquire about availability.
The 2024 Christmas markets will be held on 30th November and 7th December. We have limited availability so it is advisable to book early.

Everything was brilliant, the service, breakfast, hosts and the rest of the company. We would have no hesitation in staying again or recommending others to stay,
From the moment of arrival I knew this place would not disappoint and it didn’t…… Lovely period features throughout, comfortable bedroom with lots of nice little touches. Loved the bottles of Prosecco and glasses in our room when we arrived. Pretty outdoor garden Where we drank the Prosecco Whilst admiring the beautiful flowers.
The hosts were very welcoming, friendly and helpful as were the waiting staff. Breakfast was delicious with lots of lovely choices… you definitely won’t go hungry!!!
We will most definitely be returning and would love a Winter trip to experience the log fire in the comfy sitting room .

A beautiful house and gardens set in a wonderful location. The hosts, Lynne and Steve are so friendly and helpful and the food is wholesome and plentiful. The house is situated just off Grassington market square and is the perfect location for walks around the awesome Yorkshire countryside.
Parking is available which is ideal as you can leave the car and travel by foot or bus to surrounding attractions. The walk to Burnsall is spectacular.
Ashfield House will be my first choice when visiting the area again. I would definitely recommend a visit.
The added value to this property was its location to Grassington. Walk out of the front door and quite literally 30 seconds.
It was quaint, breakfasts were brilliant the hosts were outstanding, the garden was extremely good and very peaceful, the room very and the bed was extremely comfortable. Parking was more than adequate. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. We will definitely visit again.
We had a wonderful stay at Ashfield House. The room was beautiful and very clean, the prosecco on arrival was a lovely touch.
There was a great choice for breakfast and the quality was fantastic, including a vegetarian option.
Ashfield House is located in the centre of Grassington with off-road parking, which is a great benefit.
The garden is also lovely – we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy a drink in the sunshine during our stay.
